The Arnold Bernhard Library at Quinnipiac University has joined DigCurv

The Arnold Bernhard Library at Quinnipiac University holds an important collection of Irish Famine literature and has joined DigCurV to build European connections with an interest in training.

The Arnold Bernhard Library sits in the center of the Quinnipiac University main campus in Hamden, Connecticut.  It serves Quinnipiac’s undergraduate and graduate students and provides peripheral support to the School of Law. The library's An Gorta Mor collection is one of the largest American collections of Irish Famine literature and holds .nearly 700 volumes regarding the famine and other significant 19th century Irish historical events.

In the last decade, much of the physical collection has been digitized. A large portion of the collection – including the Parliamentary Papers and the Killarney Minute Books – is available online. The remainder of the collection is being processed or resides in storage. Its staff say they are "getting their feet wet with digitization and digital curation issues" and are eager for training opportunities and joined DigCurV because of its European connections and hope to connect with Irish experts as well as digital curators.
